Loss of a Founder
Today, we are saddened at the loss of one of the scholarship program's founders. Dennie Norman was an inspiration and a truly remarkable person. He lost his struggle with terminal cancer on October 14th. Throughout his fight he was known by his courage, peace, faith in God, and sense of purpose. His legacy will live on through the many young lives he has touched over the last five years and will be deeply missed.

2008 Scholarship Year
Now entering its sixth year, the R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program has grown to be the largest nationally recognized scholarship program in the field of supply chain management. To date, a total of 31 scholarships have been granted, recognizing students at leading universities across the country.

Previous Richter scholars are working in leading supply organizations across the country — from Seattle to Atlanta. This year is very exciting for the Richter Foundation because we’ve been able to expand the number of scholarships we can offer as a result of our partnership with ISM and the wonderful support we receive from our sponsors.

Seven recipients of R. Gene Richter Scholarships were honored May 5, 2008 at an awards dinner held during Institute for Supply Management™’s (ISM) 93rd Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit in St. Louis.
